You aren't perfect, but focus on becoming better

You Aren't Perfect, but Focus on Becoming Better
By: Shawn Miller

In a world that is ravaged by the advancements of technology in modern society. Everything is held to a higher standard, which means higher demands equals individuals feeling a diminished sense of belonging. In other words, society has set a standard for what is adequate. Not only has society set this standard, but also individuals place labels on what's idealistic, rather than what's realistic and genuine. Truthfully, as a whole we are unique in our ways, because it's our imperfections that truly make us who we are. If you embrace your imperfections, you'll better understand that is not all picture perfect. If life was perfect, we would have nothing to live for, or even strive for. As individuals it seems that we want to be accepted for who we are, rather than we are not. Commonly, this leads us to resort to dissociating from expressing our true selves in all aspects our lives. Social media, as an overall platform has set us on a platform, where we have been misinformed about a definition of true happiness. In a parallel, there's a chain link between seeking happiness, and focusing on being perfect. It's that if we want to truly be utterly happy, we must focus on becoming better, rather than being magnetized to a magnet. Therefore, the more that we focus on becoming bettering, and growing as human beings, the more we will be magnetized to get us in touch with our higher selves. In reality, we all have preconceived standards that we set for what look for in a life partner, a dream job, and that dream car. On the contrary sometimes we look blindly in the rear view mirrors without seeing the bigger picture. In my final words, I would like to stay that, rather selling yourself short by dwelling on your imperfections hone in on becoming that person that aligns with your vision.
